Yorkie and Kelly’s story is special in many ways. The two women have a rich past that’s uncovered in this episode that spikes our curiosity. San Junipero tackles their sexual orientation and their romantic relationship through a unique context, seeing that it is in the past but also the future. Yorkie has never had the chance to experience a relationship, while Kelly has been married all her life and is having a hard time falling in love again. These are stories we rarely see in media and that have been shown in a visionary way. San Junipero’s story is out of the ordinary, but the characters are authentic and it is easy to get attached to them. This episode is timeless and warms our hearts.
