Review:

Girl was criticized by many trans and queer writers, especially about its representation of gender dysphoria and self harm which are difficult and heavy subjects for a movie and for a community. The main character, a young trans woman, is played by a cis man which perpetuates transphobia. That being said, this movie can be take it as a reality, Lara’s reality, which can be a reality for many others, but it is not necessarily the ultimate trans journey. There is has much journeys as there are people, this movie is not the general situation, it is far from being perfect but it invites peoples to be empathetic and be kind in my opinion.
