Regional group of social intervention of Montreal (GRIS Montréal)

GRIS-Montreal (Groupe de Recherche et d’Intervention Sociale) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to ensure a better awareness of the homosexual and bisexual reality and to make it easier for gays, lesbians and bisexuals to integrate into society.

Gender Creative Kids / Enfants Transgenre Canada

Gender Creative Kids is a non-profit organization that aims to offer safe spaces for discussion, support and sharing experiences for trans and non-binary children, and for their parents and siblings. The organization also aims to raise awareness amongst the populations about the needs of trans youth, as well as defending their rights, the rights of their families, and promoting their interests. The organization gathers mainly trans kids, their siblings, their parents and their allies. It also offers online resources and at the moment, is working to set up a virtual networking space for trans, non-binary and questioning youth.

  • Our current training offer is mainly offered to school staff and youth workers, but can be adapted to CEGEPS teens. It's like a "Trans 101" : an introduction to the reality of transgender children and teens. Our approach is to interrogate the basics about sexual identity outside of the binary system (sex "assigned at birth", gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation) in order to promote and respect diversity. Thanks to our expertise, we can easily adapt our conferences to each situation or population.

Head and Hands / A deux mains

Head & Hands envisions a society in which all youth are participants and are inspired by the endless possibilities available to them.
Head & Hands’ mission is to work with youth to promote their physical and mental well-being. Their approach is preventative, inclusive, non-judgmental, and holistic, with a fundamental commitment to providing an environment that welcomes youth without discrimination. They facilitate social change and the empowerment of youth based on their current needs within our community and society in general. They offer French and English workshops, lead by volunteers ( over 20 volunteers are trained every year), and can also accomodate groups in their premises. Last of all, they are a clinic for sexual health for 12 to 25 year-olds, that is centred on queer and trans needs, and that is also confidential and judgment-free. They are open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 pm, and no appointment is needed.

Interligne

Interligne is a first response centre that provides help and information to those concerned with sexual orientation and gender diversity. Because our services are accessible 24 hours/day, we are able to offer support to the LGBTQ+ communities, their friends and family and to service providers in the health, education and social service sectors. Through our outreach and awareness activities, we also promote greater openness to LGBTQ+ realities. Our services are offered in French and in English.

LGBT Family Coalition


The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans-identified (LGBT) Family Coalition advocates for the legal and social recognition of LGBT families. They are a bilingual group of LGBT parents and future parents exchanging information, sharing resources and having fun together with their children.

The Montreal Coalition of LGBT Youth groups is a conciliation space between organizations that offer services to young lesbians, gays, bisexuals, trans and queer. Its mission is to raise awareness about those teens' issues, to create fulfilling environments for them and to defend their rights.

  • Workshop to raise awareness about the realities of non-binary (N-B) and gender non-conforming (G N-C) teens. This workshop aims to educate teenagers and youth workers about N-B and G N-Cpeople. It is presented by a N-B/ G N-C teen, and it also aims to promote inclusive techniques and attitudes to help kids, teenagers and youth workers to use a more inclusive written and spoken language, adapted to the French language.

Prima Danse

Non-profit organization whose mission consists in using dance as a social intervention tool, and as a healthy way of life to raise awareness amongst teenagers about social issues, such as homophobia, bullying and self-affirmation. It offers interactive workshops that allow teens to move their bodies and discuss about the omnipresence of sexual stereotypes about, amongst others things, homosexuality. Prima Danse offers its services in all of Québec and is available for every age.
